Video: Sharon Van Etten Covers Fine Young Cannibals

Last week, of Montreal unveiled their best White Stripes impression for A.V. Undercover, but Sharon Van Etten and friends took a different approach for their installment of the cover song series by carving out a slower, pensive take on Fine Young Cannibals’ 1989 hit “She Drives Me Crazy” that’s all their own. FYC singer Roland Gift’s iconic falsetto vocals are brought down an octave or so, the original’s digital drum machine snare slap is replaced by Ben Lord’s nuanced brushstrokes on the kit, and Little Scream guest in the clip above.
